Goal Tracking
Runner's Studio realizes that there is more to running than data entry. Whether you are a weekend jogger or seriously training for an upcoming race, setting running goals not only helps you focus on a target but encourages you in your training. Choose between 6 types of goals, and Runner's Studio will do the rest. It will automatically track your goal progress. Choose between the following goals:
- Run More Often (Example: Run 5 times in 2 weeks)
- Run Faster (Example: Run 5 times at a pace of 8:30 in 2 weeks)
- Run Longer (Example: Run 7 times over 45:00 in 2 weeks)
- Run a Distance (Example: Run 100 miles in 4 weeks)
- Lose Weight (Example: Lose 10 pounds)
- Personal Goal (Free from goal area to allow you to create any personal goal you may have!)
Another distinctive feature of Runner's Studio is how it tracks your goals. Just imagine that you create a goal to run 25 miles in one week. For whatever reason, you do not obtain your goal the first week but were only 1 mile short of your goal. Runner's Studio will continue to track your goal until your goal is met. You do not have to meet your goal the first week. In other words, your goal is treated as "Run 25 miles in one weeks' period" and not as "Run 25 miles in a week starting from today." The latter approach is not only a defeating and discouraging approach to goal setting, but it probably does not align with what you intended. Remember, run goals are more meaningful and encouraging when they are not so easily obtainable.
Mega Goals
Runner's Studio introduces a new goal tracking option - mega goals! With a mega goal, you can select a global route and simulate a run through one of 4 regions (United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia). Along each virtual route, you pass through various cities. You are presented the distance to upcoming cities - a mini goal with the mega goal!
So what is the purpose of a mega goal? It helps you put your total run distance into perspective. So you have run 500 miles... what does that mean? With a mega goal, you can see how far on a map that is exactly. It creates encouragement and is fun to use to put your run distance into perspective. Routes you can choose to run are:
- Los Angeles, California to Charleston, South Carolina
- San Francisco, California to Boston, Massachusetts
- Vancouver, British Columbia to Halifax, Nova Scotia
- Perth, Western Australia to Sydney, New South Whales
- Dublin, Ireland to Kiev, Ukraine
- Lisbon, Portugal to Vienna, Austria
